Live Show in Pittsburgh

I am going to try something new when I travel -- live shows. We're going to do the first one in Pittsburgh on Friday night August 14th, 8PM.
I don't know what you should expect from this since I've never done one before, but I know that I will take questions from the audience and I will ask questions of the audience. This is old school interactive.

There is limited space because we wanted to try somewhere small first and we do have to charge $10 to offset the costs of the event (which I will be out of pocket on).

It will be at the Westin Convention Center in Pittsburgh. the event will be in the Butler Room. Tickets are $10 and you can get them here.

There are three rules for the event. Here they are:

It has coleslaw!  It does hurt the jaw though trying to fit that sucker in there.

Now down the street at the 'O' aka The Origional Hot dog shop this is what passes as a mediun order of fries.  Mmmmmmmmm

You can see the grease pouring right out... They look like arteriosclerotic plaques and I take any bet they are made of the same substance. If noone would eat them they'd go to the hazmat bin... CDC better not take a closer look because the fat might be airborne and contagious... OTOH those fries might prevent cancer because the tumor could suffer from a heart attack! If aliens visited the Earth and saw those fries, they would extinguish the human race based on the danger presented by those fries! If you take these fries to the LHC  a black hole WOULD form! If there ever was something like a slight indication that there was supernatural Evil in the world it'd be those yellow monsters... These fries are abominations!

Pittsburgh has JetBlue and SouthWest flying in too, so check those out for cheaper flights!  Also there is a recently renovated Amtrak station in town - a bad part of town - but it is still in town.  The greyhound station is a bit sketch.

At this moment I have an extra bed in my hotel at the Westin for Friday and Saturday night. (I am staying at a holiday in the night before)

I will be driving up from Baltimore so I will have a car.

I suggest if you consider yourself a political junkie or an activist, this is the event to go to.

 And they even have parties, to include the TYT one Cenk speaks of.

 Also, please donate to TYT so that Ana and Dave can come, I saw them at the last conference in DC and honestly I dont know how Cenk will manage without them :)

Cenk, I'm confused? (none / 0)

So I go to Ebay to get a couple of tickets for the show and I have to "bid" on them instead of "buy now".  I am up to 25 dollars on one of my bids and I think I am only supposed to pay 10.

  I was the first one on both of the tickets to be bidded, yet I don't think I have the tickets yet.

  I already booked lodging (south side Holiday Inn Express had good rate on travelosity).  I had to pay already.

  You say directly the tickets are 10 dollars.  You don't say the bidding for the tickets STARTS at 10 dollars.

 I e-mailed the person taking care of your tickets on Ebay to help me understand how you are taking care of this situation.  I have not heard from them yet.

 If any one would like to enlighten me on this, please feel free.

Hey at least Cenk admitted to being Ebay illiterate when he noticed the same thing.
What they did was put all the tickets up and leave them open to bidding.
If you click the link you will the other tickets.

The tickets should be buy it now, but they are not.

Just bid on the second one for 9.95.

 And to the rest of the folks that are bidding on these tickets, by all means get one, but having little bidding wars only helps the show and the event.

 I can't wait for this party, something tells me we should do it Halloween style and dress up (I know half of you all would be furries anyways)

Rev joined me at the last leeeeeeeeeb convention last June in DC and let me tell you we had a blast.

 I just talked to him last night, but knowing how much cheese he blew coming to DC Im not sure he could cut it to this one.

I would be more than happy to let him crash at my spot for free (as he did for me in DC).

So if you see him in the chat room encourage him to come!

If you live within 8 hours of Pittsburg, you are really cheating yourself from what will be a great weekend.
Unlike other yawn fests YearlyKos/Netroots nation is off the hook.

I went to the Daily Kos Innaguration party in DC expecting a bunch of dorks wearing name tags and typing on computers, instead they had bumping music, open bar and great food at a swanky place.

God I love being a leeeeeeebral elite :P

This sounds like too much fun. If there's anyway I can make it I'll see you guys there, but realistically I don't think I'm going to be ready to move up my test that's scheduled for the Friday.  Either way, I trust you guys and gals are going to have some good times!

Anyone want to split a room at Westin? (none / 0)

I have booking there for a room with twin beds Friday night and Saturday night.

50/50 it's 100$  (I paid 179+20 tax/fees per night)

And for Thursday night I booked at some Holiday inn type place about 3 miles away for 100$.

I have the ability to cancel the Thursday one (both from hotels.com, but the Westin deal was cheap because it was non refundable), so if someone wants to split something they already got Im down for that.

 Now if Rev24 calls me tomorrow and surprises me that he is coming, I reserve the right to cancel :D

Sadly though I feel he isn't gonna make it which is a crying shame.

And I am dying to know who bought these tickets for the event, I am 1 of 50 people going.

Amazing it sold out without Cenk even posting it on Daily Kos.
