Bill O'Reilly's Idiocy In 17 Seconds

You probably thought I was done with Fox videos today after Glenn Beck said Obama is "a racist" and Fox & Friends tried to terrify old people over health insurance reform.

But Fox is the gift that keeps on giving. The latest absurdity is O'Reilly's laughably ignorant 'debunking' of an email from a Canadian that points out that Canadians have a higher life expectancy than Americans. Wait till you get a load of O'Reilly's response.

I love this clip.  How simple is this guy?  He doesn't understand averages now?

by Spencer on 07/28/2009 07:53:35 PM EST

I'm guessing most of his viewers will passively absorb his idiocy.

They won't stop and think, and they'll start to repeat the nonsense to susceptible friends and family. It's like an STD of the mind.

People don't think you can get STDs from mind fucking, but they're wrong.

how do you prevent a mental STD?

I have some catchy ideas, but I'm too lazy to write them out.

Don't ask.

Personally, I think the only way is to practice mental abstinence.  No thinking until you're married.  Unless you're thinking out of your ass, because anal count.

anal DOESN'T count.

I was punching away at the keyboard silently when I heard this and erupted in laughter and then dutifully went back to work. You can always trust Hannity and O'Reilly for a laugh. In between Daily Show and Colbert I always like to pop in to check on the nuts.

His total lack of intelligence never ceases to amaze.  The sad thing is many elderly people believe his rhetoric. One of the greatest days in american history will be the day he runs out into the street and gets nailed by a van full of migrant workers. A fitting end for him it would be.

I'm pretty sure he knew he was talking nonsense, but aware, that that doesn't matter.

Sadly people pay much less attention to what you say than to how you say it.

The only thing that got through to the audience was these statistics don't apply to America.

That explains a lot. If even the supposed puppetmasterminds who herd their moron constituency are profoundly stupid one wonders how they even got this far.... I guess that also explains why the American people is on average a little slower than the Canadians...

by eborujion on 07/28/2009 07:56:52 PM EST

Wow I knew he was dumb but that's taking it to another level. Especially when you consider he put this piece together beforehand, so he had to have already had in mind what he was going to say. It wasn't just a lapse of concentration on live TV, which might be excusable.

The sad thing is I wouldn't mind betting 90% of FOX viewers didn't even realise the mistake and now believe it's a genuine point to make.

by 0f course on 07/28/2009 07:58:48 PM EST

How is someone that ignorant of the basics of statistics?  Has American education failed that much - or is Bill O just that ignorant?

If I lived as a nomad, there would be 300million times more people than just me.  So my life expectancy would be 300million times longer!

He's a genius!!

not nomad, hermit

doesn't he understand that they take out amt of people and put it to a ratio that fits? like say we have 10 people and they have 5. one of their persons die and two of ours die we have the same life expectancy... get it? i suck at math and i get that shit.

If you want to see a person with an actual brain discuss this issue using actual facts watch Hans Rosling’s presentation at:

Sorry I do not know how to post the actual video in the thread.

Hehe, this is just laughably idiotic.

I knew better than this by 10th grade.

by RedPossum on 07/29/2009 01:47:03 AM EST

You know it's stooopid when bobo1 and the other winged-knuts don't have the balls to come out and defend this fine piece of journamalism.
... and yet they defend most other crazed theories.

Billo reached a new level I guess. Amazing!

I would like to hear SENATOR Al Franken's opinion.
muhahahaaaaa

The title of his book will be called: Bill O'Splotchy and Math; the constant battle

I dunno if its the case that he doesnt understand statistics. Another theory is:

America has 10 times as much of all the bad things in the world since they have 10 times as many people.

Bill just recognizes that America doesnt have 10 times as much of the good things in the world. Or did i say good? I meant loony left ridiculous things such as hospitals, schools, working stoplights, non-corrupt politicians, calculators... Bill simply opposes that sorta stuff.

The logic may go as follows: correct math has a liberal, unpatrotic bias since it seems to put the US in a bad light. But if 2+2=5 then America once again can become tha greatest nation on earth. So the less we understand, the better we are. The less we know, the more we have.
