Steve McNair is Dead

One of the best and most certainly toughest QB's in NFL History has been found shot to death in his condo in Nashville.  Steve McNair was one of the most prominent black QBs and has and will pave the road for kids in the future.  There is no real point to this blog other than to show respect for Steve McNair whose life was cut short in this terrible shooting.

My sympathy goes out to his family, this is a tragic loss to both the NFL and America to have such a fine young man and great athlete cut down so young. I think I, like most people will remember his great exploits and not the horror of the way in which he passed. I can't but think though, unfortunately, that this incident will merely further the assumptions in the general public of associating the NFL with violence and gunplay. I do not know any more about the circumstances of his death than you do, based on what I've read. I'm assuming he was completely innocent and not holding a gun himself, and that it either had to do with his fame or money. Of course there are also just those plain random and insane acts of violence. Well, really any act of voilence like this is insane.

My first reaction though is to think of someone like Burris, though, wrong or right.
