*TWEET* *TWEET*

OK....so I have been on the anti-twitter bandwagon since the beginning. I find CNN and the rest of the media asking for our opinions incredibly unproductive and annoying. We aren't on TV for a reason, for the most part  (Cenk excluded, of course).

But...I must admit that I recently made myself an account...

Wait Wait!! Don't judge too harshly just yet, please

:)

So, I still find the idea of tweeting out your grilled cheese sandwiches ridiculous. I have zero interest in 99% of what is out there, I'm sure.

First of all, I do not tweet. I follow. Not sure if that is better or worse, lol, but that's what I am using it for.
I signed up to follow some of the people I read from regularly. The blogs I frequent. TYT, PZMyers, RHRealityCheck, etc. etc.
I don't check them very often, but I have to say that it is kind of really really convenient. All of the info I usually surf from site to site for is listed in one place. I can get the first line and pick what I want to see and ignore the rest.
So.......I think I may have changed my mind. I may be in the conversion process. I still have no interest in tweeting. My life is simply not that interesting.
I guess I'm wondering how many of you have actually stepped over to the dark side and what you like or don't like.
Feel free to mock.
:)

We're doomed, folks.  There might not be any defense against it.

I believe I fall in the "I don't even check my Facebook or Myspace very often so haven't bothered looking yet." category.

Though, I must add I really like that they kept Iranian government from being able to hide their dirty secrets, and efficiency of it does sound nice; maybe I'll check it out.

Geez, are you out of it.  How can you live being so disconnected?  I just need to know everything about everyone, and I need everyone else to know when I pick my nose.  That's why tweeting is so vitally important!  It helps us keep in touch!

This service uses a day-to-day billing cycle and that can't be changed for any reason.  The terms of your subscription were quite clear about that.  You should have read the agreement more closely before you decided to accept it.

Now, if you'd like to consider someone else's service, we'll be glad to terminate your contract immediately.  In fact, I could recommend a vendor who offers outstanding services and guarantees that we simply cannot match.  But I'm certain that you'll find that his price is quite unacceptable.

Both the extension service you asked about and sub-prime loans are offered by the same vendor that I mentioned, so it's probably better to avoid both if you want to keep your immortal soul.

grilled cheese sandwiches here: http://tinyurl.com/kkqn9v

Granted I'm more than slightly obsessed with the events in Iran but twitter provides a useful tool for a giant conference call discussion.

Once that situation quiets down, I'll shift to other political topics of which there will never be a short supply, if the past is any indication.

Grilled Cheese sandwiches need not apply.

I was looking forward to a grilled cheese sandwich, but when I got there all I found was some other mysterious substance that I couldn't recognize.  Give me grilled cheese!  I'm an American fercryinoutloud!

I'm gonna go look for more Michael Jackson.

since i read your post, lady.

You make it sound less annoying than I thought it was...so I may actually check it out...I didn't realize it was relatively easy to just follow...cause that's about all I would do...

by opiman000 on 07/09/2009 06:27:38 PM EST

Here's IMHO on Twitter.  First of all, you need to make sure you're following people who are interesting, or else you'll just get annoyed.  Some people tweet about their lunch or what they did at work, or what their kid shit out this morning.  I can only assume they don't know how to use instant messaging to tell their buddy's inane crap.

In order for you to really get the power of twitter, you have to use the search function and figure out how to use #hashtags and go to trending trackers like twopular.com.  Plus if you use the igoogle stuff you can put a twitter widget in there and see the latest tweets.  I like it mainly for laughs and to see what's going on.
