Republican for a day

Yesterday, I was a Republican.

As I talked about here before, I promised to vote for a candidate for public office I know before I found out he was a Republican.  had no problem voting for the person, but the election was a primary. And in a primary, you have to say which party's ballot you want. That meant going in and saying, in a sense, I was Republican.

So, I decided to honor my promise, and I did.

It wasn't near the same as walking in and saying I had twenty dollars who had a little boy. However, it did not feel great. And the fact is your average Republican is much closer to doing that than I like (in both a moral and an actual sense.)

At least, I didn't say I was a teabagger.

Today, I am NOT a Republican.

"Someday, when you start making a lot of money and paying a lot of taxes and stop caring about anything other than said money, you will be Republican for the rest of your life."

Plenty of Reps are pretty damn poor or average.

It goes more like "Someday, when you get tired of logic and facts you will be a Republican for the rest of your life."

I don't expect shit from anyone (sadly, because I live in America for now). Also what is the point of a nation if not to take care of its populous? Why I really did hope Texas would leave the US so it could become a 3rd world country in a day.
