Chevelle's "The Red" is nice to listen to, but I'm not sure that's the link you actually wanted to post.  This video might be more relevant:

Full coverage of how stupid Palin can sound even when she writes notes in the palm of her hand can be found in Stefan Sirucek article at HuffPo

glad I didn't pull a Major Garrett!

Link is fixed.

OT, but this site needs a facelift.  There shouldn't be a need for a 3 min video on how to embed a video!

Who requires a full teleprompter set up to speak to an elementary school you're getting  awful snippy about a non Harvard grad using crib notes on her palm...

Yeah, Palin isn't real bright, but that's becoming more and more endearing to the American electorate after months and months of lecturing from the academic sounding "Teleprompter President"...

Hypocrisy, anyone?

by bobo1 on 02/07/2010 03:03:14 PM EST

Becoming more endearing to conservatives and nothing more. She wouldn't win if Obama died and Biden ran not wearing any pants. The hypocrisy here lies with you conservatives, if you want to start the teleprompter crap even though other presidents have used it then fine. But Palin should get hammered for this, what is she 14? Shit, just take index cards and no one would say shit.

It's probably what she's used to doing when she's unprepared for the task at hand. Palin has never been much of a test taker. Old habits die hard.

Even having written those crib notes on her hand, she still couldn't manage to make any sense in that clip.  It was hilarious!  No matter how many times I hear it, I always laugh when she bursts into her trademarked illogical and irrational rambling.  It's a great comedy act, and I am thrilled that she took it on the road.

This petty "Teleprompter" criticism is amusing ... you folks act he is the 1st president to use a Teleprompter to give "SPEECHES". All Presidents have used it since it's invention.

We all know the "Teleprompter" criticism is just a way to compensate for your party's last president .. who was such a ignoramus .. he couldn't give a speech without fumbling even with a teleprompter.

Anyways let me get into Sarah Palin ... Why does she have to use Crib Notes which contains the Typical GOP talking points .. (talking points she has been uttering since she was selected as the GOP VP nominee) to answer Typical GOP questions from GOP voters during a Q&A session????

A Proud Progressive!!!

our first "date" with Sarah???   She read someone else's words FROM A TELEPROMPTER at the RNC convention (9/08) and rocked the room. Face it, Sarah reads well. The republicans/conservatives have since eviscerated her best chance for a repeat performance.  Notes on the hand, very 5th grade.

Palin might be a dummy, yes, but she represents the growing resentment of eggheads and slick Willie types who have co-opted our politics for far too long...

I won't vote for her, personally, but she and her down home charm will bring about someone who I could consider voting for...

Let the liberals make fun of her. Let them show the world how snide and petty they really are. Nobody likes a know it all who can't produce results (like our current president)...

the thing about todays conservatism is that you have the tendency of doing, what is called in psychology, projection. in other words, subconsciously& nbsp;you realize what people like yourself are and do, but you use it as an insult against those you disagree with. this is one of the many case's in point. your party had more than a decade of power in each branch of the government after the opposing party handed over a completely turned around country with a lack of problems, minus the boss man getting a blow job, after that party was handed a poorly operated company by, once again, your party. the thing is that, when it comes to policy, we have more to stand on STATISTICALLY than your party does. tax cuts are proven to explode the deficit in the same way that spending how you currently do and accepting a lower paying job will increase your debt. thats very simple and very clear. obama won on policy, but hasn't inn-acted  the policies because he's deluded in thinking your party has any sort of decency or humility from what happened over the past decade. stop projecting and come up with real facts. palin writing on her hand isn't very substantial, but she hasn't given us policies to discuss and if she has to write stuff on her hand to remember the same things she's been saying for over a year, it makes us feel less confident that she can create policy.

" And while I'm not much of a writer, and I'm certainly not very smart, for some reason people like to read what I write."- Hugh Everett

"Palin might be a dummy, yes, but she represents the growing resentment of eggheads and slick Willie types who have co-opted our politics for far too long"

Having the best and the brightest in charge is not something with which you feel particularly concerned.  Feeling threatened by people who are smarter than you are, you, yourself, resent them, and you criticize them for being smarter than you are.

You want people who are less intellectually capable to be in charge.  That way, you won't feel so threatened by them, and you can feel superior to them and still continue to criticize them without having to actually do anything yourself to make things better.

by EveningStarNM on 02/09/2010 11:15:50 AM EST

[ Parent ]
As Obama has illustrated in the first year of his failing presidency, its not always the best and brightest who knows how to get things done.

Someone (like Obama) can be super smart and intellectually driven and be a piss poor people person who can't understand why things don't go the way he thinks they should.

Bush and Palin are dummies in the intelectual department, yes, but they are the kind of people who can rally the masses and take action as opposed to just using mere words. Hell, Bush got us totally involved in two wars and for a time convinced the majority of the country that it was the right thing to do! Obama couldn't do that if he had God given directions and free money to give out to supporters...

I'm not saying Bush/Palin are right, I'm saying they know how to sway people better than Mr. Professor Obama...

by bobo1 on 02/09/2010 01:02:32 PM EST

[ Parent ]
Yeah, that sounds like a great plan: Let's keep electing dummies.

by EveningStarNM on 02/09/2010 02:58:49 PM EST

[ Parent ]
Its not about electing dummies. Its about electing people who can get the job done.

Obama is not getting the job done. He's not getting what he wants done.

Republicans get the job done, as evidenced by who gets what they want when they want it.

Do you understand now? Or do I need to spell it out in even simpler terms...

by bobo1 on 02/09/2010 03:23:45 PM EST

[ Parent ]
Let's keep electing dummies!  They'll certainly get something done, even if it drives our economy into the ground!

Bob, at some point, you're going to have to start thinking about things.  You apparently have no idea about why Obama hasn't been able to accomplish even the things that he has tried to accomplish.  And I'm not defending him.  I'm simply trying to get you to think about things rather than continue to skim along the surface, where your ridiculous criticisms and ideas might seem to make sense, even though any meager analysis of them reveals them to be completely worthless.

If you want to solve problems, you're going to have to learn to understand the problems first.  Just because a dummy can be used by underlings who are smarter than he is to achieve a lot of their goals does not mean that it's a good thing to have dummies in charge.  You should always want the absolute smartest person to be in charge, as long as that person is qualified and has good motives, even if you disagree with some of his or her policies.  And if you disagree with a lot of those policies but the alternative is Palin or Bush or [name any popular Republican here], then you still must vote for the smarter person.

To do otherwise is simply irresponsible.  No matter what you want, the government -- and the world -- is more complicated than you think.  It takes a smart person to deal with it.  Electing anyone of Palin's or Bush's or McCain's or Boehner's or ... limited abilities is courting further disaster.

And no matter what you think, Obama has kept us out of the pit of doom in which Republicans want to bury us.

Why in the world would she ever need to write energy, and tax cuts on her hand?? Energy, and tax cuts?? Like she would ever forget to bring up those topics in a speech to the Baggers.

by PZPhart on 02/08/2010 11:56:20 AM EST

is that I think she had originally written budget cuts and then she crossed it out and wrote tax cuts instead. It's as if she originally thought she would talk about budget cuts and then realized Obama had just done that.. Oops! Can't give Obama any kudo's so she thought better of it and had to scratch it out.

Funny that she's literally that ill-prepared that she has to revise her hand-scribblings!!!
