Cenk, I know...

... you're a smart guy but, I have a pet peeve...

that continually irks me.  Tonight when you said people buy less black Barbie dolls, I was compelled to write this post.  Did no teacher throughout your extensive studies explain the difference between LESS and FEWER?  You should have said, "People are buying fewer black Barbie dolls."  This was not the first time you said, "less," when you meant, "fewer."

p.s. Keep up the good work.  When I get a job, I plan on buying a TYT membership.

Understood him, nuff said.

Most people use less, and the more it happens the more it's acceptable, that’s language, it evolves.

For me, "less" and "fewer" is something I don't really care about in spoken English. What does irk me, being the hypocrite that I am, is the abuse of "literally".

e.g. "He was so angry, he was literally screaming his lungs out."

No... he wasn't.

My other pet hates are mostly in written English. I hate it when people don't distinguish between:
There and their and they're; your and you're; it's and its; I and me; and most of all if they use of instead of have.
(He should of said... I cringe every time I read that and consider whoever used it to be the loser of the argument)

You forgot to hate when people use "to" instead of "too" and my personal least favorite, using "I" when they should use "me" as if it makes them sound intelligent.  I could literally punch a fool in the face for doing that one!

Makes me really angry, too.
I remember a discussion I had with bobo1 about him writing: "You want to get rid of Ken and I."
He even had the audacity to say that I could say "Ken and me" and nobody would correct me even though it's false, because I'm just a foreigner.

This guy teaches writing.
