It Can Only Be Put Off So Long

Sometimes, you just have no choice but to deal with a health issue as soon as possible. Frankly, I'm sure there's at least a couple of you folks on here who saw this coming.
Sometimes, it's a welcome relief to take the risk and let people know the specifics of your own personal situation. The information is out in the open, and you can sit back and let the chips fall where they may. Often, how people react to that information lets you know exactly what kind of folks they are.
There are times when I regret letting it be plainly known on this forum that I have a mental health disorder (schizophrenia), mainly when that fact is used as a convenient way for certain users to try and dismiss anything that comes onto the forum from my account.
You know who you are.
I've managed to stay out of any sort of in-patient care for the better part of seven years now, but this last week has been disturbing in ways that I imagine would bring plenty of folks to the ground, hard.
So I've talked things over with my wife, and she's going to take three of her personal days, starting Monday, so that I can get myself checked into a psychiatric ward for a few days to help get myself leveled off.
Thankfully, my employer is being very understanding about this, as I was upfront and honest when I was first interviewed for my job. I was asked if there were any medical conditions that might arise that could make me unavailable to work. You can imagine my manager's surprise when I came right out and told her.
My health insurance plan covers me for up to 30 days per year of in-patient care, fully covered. This time does not roll over if it isn't spent, but if I need that kind of time, the game is pretty much over anyhow, right?
So hopefully I'll be back around Thursday or Friday to see how things have developed here on the forum.

P.S.- I know there's at least two of you here who are apt to make a couple of choice jokes on this one. Go ahead, stay classy, fellahs. You know who you are, and I trust everybody else in the forum will have an appropriate response for you.
