The fight has just begun

I've read about and heard from lots of  progressives who are angry about this bill. The democrats have let an incredible oppurtunity slip through their fingers. But I've been  pissed off for so long that I am now numb. Our representatives are not going to give us what we want right now and I have come to accept that.

It's now time  to take that anger and fight. First of all push for improvements in healthcare and insurance. Push those politicians who can be pushed and line up against those who don't or won't support healthcare reforms.
Second kick the asses of the corporate sellouts. Kick their sellout asses right out of congress. Let's get Howard Dean elected somewhere. I'm not done with the fight.
Hell with stopping it's just starting

Do it within 4 years or else you won't have the support for more leftist or progressive principles. This bill has been painted as progressive and far left due to the Republicans labeling it so and the democrats not refuting it. At the beginning of his administration he had the support for anything he wanted and so did the Democrats, if they didn't do it with that support then it's not going to happen. I'm not saying don't do whatever it is you're going to, I'm saying good because you're going to need it.

In all likely hood America will be living with this bill and more likely an even more watered down version of this bill through decades, whatever short term benefit this thing brings is going to get smashed down the road, same goes for financial reform as there are already people warning about un popped bubbles.

But I watched "Capitalism: A Love Story" a few hours ago.
Moore tried to remind people that they can affect small changes.
He also cited the strikes of the late '30s as pivotal to America's robust growth during the 20th century. Oh, Michael, there was also that little thing called World War 2, which most historians say caused the enormous boom.
We are not going to have a WW2 to bail us out this time.

The Obama worship of '08 and last year seems to be totally gone now.

I remember when Bob Cesca called me "horrible dick" because I dared to say that Obama's only redeeming historic value was that he was black, Otherwise, he was just any other politician, not a savior.

"HOW DAAAAAAAAAARRRRRE YOU. YOU HORRRRRRIBLE HORRIBLE DICK!"

Aaaaand of course one year later the world bows to me. Not really. The guy who was right never receives any reward.

It's called Iran.  That will be the war they use to pull us out of our economic death spiral.

Don't waste your vote, vote Green or Independent in the next election.

If you want to start a fire.  You need a match to light.  Let's face it, wars are profitable.  That's why the US likes to fight them.  If you think our govt cares about the American people or the economy you must be daft.  Our congressmen are largely bought and paid for by big corporations.  For them it's all about profits for their true constituents.

If they really cared about the people, they would enact a single payer plan, it's cheaper, covers everybody and includes cost containment with no pre-existing claims issues.

If they really cared about the people, they would stop adventurous illegal wars and focus on spending money to build up our infrastructure with high speed rail, solar mirror power plants, modern integrated green cities and create good manufacturing jobs.

Instead they create phantom conflicts to keep everybody infighting and never accomplish anything. The Becks, Limbaughs and Jones are more interested in frightening people to divide them, to make them fight than in helping people to make America stronger.

Don't waste your vote, vote Green or Independent in the next election.
