I don't know if you saw my post about rats, but I have two pet rats, and they are awesome.

I really dislike what Cenk said on Monday's show.

There's no "I like both" option on this poll.  This would be fun for national elections, too.  Make 'em co-govern.  That's good sitcom stuff right there.

 

My friend has pet rats, and they piss on you when they decide they like you for the first time.  It's special. 
 
 Otherwise, the rats were actually quite cool, in doses.  I would never have one as a pet, but I can see why some people would.
 
I would need to know more about the scatological methods of the squirrel before rendering my final verdict, but at this point, I favor both and think that neither should be candidates for extinction

I don't know much about either, but haven't pet rats been completely  modified by humans in just about every aspect (appearance, behaviour, genes really), while squirrels haven't been tempered with?

If I had to choose between a wild sewer rat and a squirrel, I'm going with the squirrel. Even if it's an ugly motherfucker like this one. But imagine how cute they would be if they had been bred and domesticated like rats. The fact that this has not happend yet I attribute to the strength of their independent character. Got squirrels!

And yes, the grey or black ones you have in America are nothing to fuck with. THEY exterminated their red cousins in England by stealing their food supplies, thanks to higher skills in woodcraft. And one specimen terrorized a town near Manchester for some weeks in 2002, attacking half a dozen peole.
