First of all, I am not the one who admitted on a public forum that I was mentally ill. You did that unprovoked and at will. While I commend your honesty and forthright nature, you must admit that opening yourself and your personal struggles invites the issue to be resurfaced during banter on the forum.
It wasn't like you said "I have MS or Crohn's Disease", something that wouldn't generally effect your judgement or mental capacity. You are schizophrenic, and by that token your statements, especially on the mental conditions of others or your assertions of reality and opinion are automatically open to dispute.
Now if you wanted to discuss the mental status or opinions of others here on the forum, perhaps you should have withheld that little tidbit of personal information to lend yourself credibility. But as of right now, you have no leverage to call someone out on their mental balance or opinions...
If you want to discuss political issues, I will be more than happy to engage you on that level. Granted, I will take with a grain of salt your condition and the irrationality that schizophrenia brings to any discussion, but I will do my best to overlook your inbalance and engage in debate with you.
Not everything you say will be judged solely on your mental stability, but even you must admit that your approach and your candor lends a bit of creepiness to your persona.
So again, I will leave you to your day, I hope it is a good one for you, but please be aware that when you start judging others on their mental status or where they might be coming from personally or politically that I will be there to call you out on it. Thats my job here, and I do it well...
:)
"The first thing Fascists usually try to do is silencing the opposition."
What I am trying to say that your judgement and ability to reflect on the feelings of others can be altered by schizophrenia.
I just found it amusing that someone who has admitted having a mental illness of that degree felt the need to comment on the judgement and rationality of others here on the forum. That would be like me (a white male) talking about being an oppressed black man. I have no basis for that judgement or grounding in reality...
That's what I had hoped to convey, Byron. As for the "Take your Meds" bit, that's actually a long standing joke with me and another participant (the equally imbalanced EveningStarNM). When he takes his meds, he's OK, but when he forgets, he goes absolutely banana ape shit over the slightest Conservative statement.
I will henceforth assume you are taking your meds regularly and not comment on that front until you go apeshit crazy here on the TYT forum...
Even though I see his point that the personality of people should not be considered as important as the facts they present I have to say that many of the "liberal" participants on this forum behave very similar to the conservatrolls in that regard. E.g. whenever Kentex is talking about something related to science somebody brings up his claims about his degrees, without adressing the point that he has made.
Even though I enjoy the banter at least as much as the next guy sometimes I wish that we could concentrate more on the issues than on the personal quarrels. With we I mean first of all myself.;-)
Your black man allegory is so flawed that I don't even know where to start. We all have mental problems to a certain degree and being aware of them is the first step to avoid projecting them on others. That's why psychiatrists analyse themselves during their education, so they can avoid this kind of projection. That Byron has been exposed to a certain amount of psychological input makes him only more qualified, if anything.
