I can't wait to hear Cenk's take on his UK Media Talk

I highly recommend listening to the talk Cenk gave at the UK Changing Media Summit before he talks about it on Monday.

It's only about 15 minutes long and Cenk got cut off pretty damn quick. Here's the link.

It was a hoot. Cenk was keeping it real as usual but it seems that some in the crowd (BBC people?) were having none of it. One guy even called it "utter rubbish" referring to Cenk's attack on the major media outlets.

Thanks to clout2k and Judith Townend for posting it. Judith has a good post on it.

Fun quotes:

Shaking off a heckler, Uygur said that his online talkshow's content could easily compete: "NBC's content is nowhere near as good as mine".

But the best quote: "Our viewers are awesome; we call them the TYT army: we can never lose an online poll. We can do an online poll against Jesus and we will win."

This is why we love our Cenk. ALBA GU BRÀTH!

Why are those damn British reporters so condescending?

Cenk was dead on about the evening news. And they scoff at what he said as if he had said some Alex Jones conspiracy.

And thats why they are losing ratings. Total disconnect.

"The term 'national debt' is a way for the rich to con the poor into paying the tab of the former's escapades."

I think it's partly the work of people like Fox, that many British reporters have a low opinion of US media in general. Of course this is prejudice, and it's not right, but that'd be why.
Also, a certain amount of conceit stems from the fact that the BBC considers itself (accurately, in my personal view) to be the greatest broadcasting agency in existence).

I like the Young Turks, but I would also point out that if you allow adverts for "Adult Toys+Lingerie" on your homepage, you can't get that annoyed if you aren't taken seriously.
