Defending Cenk on Dkos

I wanted to scream at people who were mad at Cenk, Jessie Ventura, Michael Moore et all on the teeming blogs today.

This is what I posted in comments today at dkos on Cenk's diary for JV.

While criticism of President Obama makes for some uncomfortable moments.  Cenk does so thoughtfully and with careful analysis to back up his positions.  While I do not agree 100% of the time, I too go back and forth between despair and the desire to fight another day against seemingly impossible odds.

Cenk isn't a pessimist bashing Obama, he is optimist, appealing to his better angels.

Might I remind those who listen (and inform those that don't) that Cenk quotes MLK on a nearly daily basis as follows: "There is a balm in Gilead to make the wounded whole. There is a balm in Gilead to heal the sin sick soul."

Just for clarity a little more MLK"

DKOS IS A WASTE OF TIME. (none / 0)

It has always been nothing more than a Clintonesque site of DLC lite garbage, never has it really supported progressive ideals or candidates.

Every time I go there I feel the need to wash afterwards.

Also their site needs an overhaul. Same goes for Huffington, I can't stand that site for the most part. So many people up Obama’s ass on that site and most of your posts get deleted for no reason.

Saying that Cenk is a true Progressive, you are all fooling yourselves - He's a Conservadem at best, a Rush baby at worse...

He talks a good game, but he is a typical lawyer - stick your finger in the wind to see which way the wind is blowing. I've never been convinced that Cenk is one of truly a progressive. He's too much of a Capitalist for most of your leanings...

Maybe I'm not getting this right but I don't think being progressive and being capitalist are mutually exclusive. He seems pretty solidly progressive to me. What do you mean exactly?

Are certainly not Capitalists, they are anti-free market, pro-governemnt control of industry and anti-wealth.

Progressivism (as displayed here at TYT) is not mutally exclusive with Capitalism...

You are saying that Progressivism on TYT is an entirely different type of progressive than normal. Now I can't speak for everyone on this site but I'll take a guess that you don't have evidence that everyone here believes in the principles you stated.So I think branding a entire web site of people in that way isn't the right way to go.

 More to the point what does that have to do with Cenk not being progressive.  If you agree that it isn't mutually exclusive then how does that make Cenk not progressive?

I haven't been reading the blogs but I noticed yesterday on The ED Show and MM w/Dkos on Olbermann that they are really being assholes. WTF?

With "friends" like these...

Ed and Markos better recognize!
