the girls have to be into it, it has to be intense and they have to have the 'stripper skills' to know what's actually hot -and the cameraman has to know how to capture the action in a pleasing manner.

...straight women, I have to agree.  However - Jayar is not alone in finding 'slash' unappealing.  I've written fanfiction for years and have found that while lots of people like the m/m stuff, an equal number don't.  Jayar explains it exactly as I do - why would a situation I would have no chance of being involved in be titillating?  For me, at least, it's not.
