Hatred for Nader

Google Technorati del.icio.us digg reddit

Why hate old Nader? When there's so much blame to go around?

Why? Ralph Nader not only gets mounds of hatred and resentment thrown at him by disgruntled Democrats but the same ol tired questions lobbed at him by Wolf Blitzer, Russert, et al. No one seriously believes that he was a "spoiler" in 2000 so what's the beef?

Vanity Fair

If you want to get angry (and informed) pick up the October Vanity Fair with Nicole Kidman on the cover.  The article on how the press ripped apart Al Gore in 2000 will get the water rolling a bit in the pot. But it won't start boiling because after all, there is no real requirement that the press be honorable.  On the other hand, the story about MacArthur's botched offensive in Korea will fill bring the pot to a full boil.  Thousands of lives lost and untold misery and destruction because of an ideological psychopathic intelligence officer on MacArthur's staff.  Finally, the article on the lost $9 billion in Iraq will cause you to boil over.  I am now convinced that we need a major prosecution to put high level US officials in jail, including Bush and Cheney.

Al Gore Has Already Won a Popular Vote

Google Technorati del.icio.us digg reddit
No matter what you think of the electoral mess in the 2000 election, Al Gore won the popular vote. It's easy to forget that, but that should be drilled in everyone's head - Al Gore has already won a presidential election based on popularity.

Now, let me ask you an obvious question -- how many people do you think who voted for Al Gore in 2000 now regret that vote and think, "Man, I really should have voted for George Bush instead?" My guess is out of the 51 million people who voted for Gore, not more than 11 people feel that way. And they are on some serious medication.

Gorobama!

Google Technorati del.icio.us digg reddit

I'll tell you what we want, what we really, really want. The dream team. Gore-Obama 2008. GOROBAMA!

Deep in our hearts, that's what we all want. Obama sounds so good. His speech on foreign policy yesterday hit so many good notes. But we're all a little worried about two things. Does he have enough experience to win? In other words, is he quite there yet? And does he have the courage to do what is right even if it might not be popular at the time?
