Save Progressive Talk Radio

This is what a grassroots effort should aspire to. The hard work by individuals willing to stand up for a cause that they believe in has kept Progressive radio alive in Madison.

NonStopRadio.com helped to facilitate 92.1 FM, the Mic's, resurrection as a progressive voice in Madison, WI after it had been announced that it was being transformed to an all sports format.  Because of the diligent work of many local residents, the idea that we can each make a difference in local programming is being heard in radio programmers' offices.  This is just one win.

There are still many battles to fight in order to keep the progressive message on the air.  Markets such as Cincinnati, Boston, Dallas, and Columbus have already lost their Progressive stations.

Many more communities have been identified as being at risk of losing their local progressive stations and need your help: Little Rock, AR; Quad Cities, IA/IL; New Orleans, LA; Buffalo/Niagara Falls, NY; San Antonio, TX; Santa Cruz, CA; Baton Rouge, LA; Binghamton, NY; Albany, OR; Huntington, WV.

NonStop Radio is assisting the efforts of local groups by acting as a clearinghouse of information, distributing tips to supporters and seeking out those stations that are at risk.  Reach out to nonstopradio.com and offer them your assistance in your radio market.  Together we can make a difference.

Losing Talk Radio in Boston

We have lost Progressive Talk Radio in Boston because Clear Channel, the owner of the stations that broadcast Air America merged with Thomas H. Lee and Bain Capital.  This unholy triumvirate has decided to eliminate progressive talk and replace it with Hispanic music.  We already have plenty of outlets for Hispanic music in the area, this was the only out let for progressive talk. I want to fight back; I want my progressive talk radio and Air America back on!

The Real Explanation of Why We Moved to Air America

Here's the real explanation of why we moved to Air America. We needed ratings. Period. If we stayed on Sirius, we were never going to get ratings and without ratings, you can't prove to anyone that you have a good show. If you can't prove it, eventually the show will die out and never get picked up by anyone else.

The Young Turks will be having a "public conference" immediately following the first show on our website. Instead of a press conference, where only the press is invited, we will take questions from everybody. Hence, our new made up word -- public conference.
