The pressure finally tipped George Bush over the edge of sanity as a young Obama supporter called the President a "low-polling dickhead who couldn't even whup a pussy country like Iraq," after the President wandered onto a baseball field muttering, "I like toast!"
The President calmly walked over to the young lad, chuckling under his breath, and gave him a pat on the back - one which sent the youth sprawling headfirst onto homeplate. The President fell down to one knee and pushed the boy's face into the dirt and hard plastic of the base.
"Who's the pussy NOW, ya lil' fucker? How'd you like a one way trip to Git - Mo? Ah can do it ya know, 'cause Ah'm the decider and you ain't the boss of me!"
The President was seen boasting of his conquest and exhorting onlookers to "Bring It ON, Mother Fuckers!" as the child was taken to a local emergency room.

It's a great story - hostages held for years, including three Americans held longer than any other Americans rescued without a shot fired. I expect a major Hollywood movie has already been pitched. As usual, I have a question...
Here's a paragraph and a link:
"Colombian spies tricked leftist rebels into handing over kidnapped presidential candidate Ingrid Betancourt and three U.S. military contractors Wednesday in a daring helicopter rescue so successful that not a single shot was fired." -
Betancourt calls her rescue `a miracle'

From
TPM Central:
This is fun: A campaign staffer for a leading GOP Senator has been busted posting fake posts on liberal blogs under an alias.
Burnt Orange Report, the premier state-level liberal blog in Texas,
has discovered that commenter "Buck Smith" -- who claimed in the site's comments to be a liberal and who was critical of Texas Democrats and their candidates -- was in fact none other than
David Beckwith, a top Texas Republican operative who works for GOP Sen. John Cornyn.

Frederick
Who? you ask? He was the longtime acting US Attorney in Guam
who in 2002 was the first to say, "This guy,
Jack Abramoff....eh, sumpin' funny here. I think I'll look into it." He did such a good job that Abramoff said,
"I don't care if they appoint bozo the clown, we need to get rid of Fred Black" Well, Jackie boy is beginning to realize that he has been left hanging out on the line and is rolling over faster than a marble in a dryer. He has
finally admitted to the Guam scam. Thank you,
Frederick Black! They screwed you six ways from Sunday, but the truth has finally hit the fan!

Wes Clark never mentioned, impugned, denigrated, or in any way attacked McCain's PATRIOTISM and YOU are a FOOL to play into the hands of the Republicans in this way.
What you SHOULD have said was, "Wes is right. There is nothing about military service or a lack thereof which automatically bestows upon a person the judgement, leadership, temperment or ability to be the leader of the free world."

Robert Wexler's new book,
Fire-Breathing Liberal: How I Learned to Survive (and Thrive) in the Contact Sport of Congress is finally on the shelves today. I preordered mine; hope it gets here soon.
I checked this morning and it's already #2 at Amazon (in political books, #66 overall) behind Obama's
Audacity of Hope.
#1 and #2 - this is more than likely the closest I'll get to seeing them as running mates. But, damn, don't they make a good lookin' team! (And, they beat out Ron Paul, coming in at #3 - McCain's is at #15)

Desperate times in the music industry. The RIAA, after decades of sending music to radio stations for the free advertising that playing the song brings, has decided that their former bitches are now
pirates for playing music over the air. They now want radio stations to pony up some big bucks for the privilege of promoting the RIAA's product.

By now, few people remember that 25% of the population were firmly against an Iraq invasion in the months prior to the crime. To hear the MSM talk about it, we were a small sliver of the pie. The press' reaction to Scott McClellan's book made it clear that they had no idea that there was any questioning of the White House claims about the immediacy of any "threat" Iraq posed.
As
Eric Boehlert at Media Matters points out, they were blind to alternative views, including Senator Ted Kennedy. I have provided a short excerpt of Ted's September 27, 2002 unheeded plea for due diligence. You can read the full speech

I wanted to put in the Subject Header: Are you fucking KIDDING me? Didn't think it would convey enough...
This is about the interview Bush did with the British reporter which is causing a stir because Bush accused the reporter of slander (note to George - it ain't slander if it's true!) after questioning the double standards of freedom re: Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo, renditions.
What isn't getting attention, but caught my eye as it slipped by on
Democracy Now, was a comment Bush made about Abu Ghraib. Get this:
"My only point to you is, is that, yeah, I mean, we certainly wish Abu Ghraib hadn’t happened, but that should not reflect, you know, America. This was the actions of some soldiers. That doesn’t show the heart and soul of America."

Long time forum participants might remember how I used to rail on about how uranium tipped weapons and the use of white phosphorous weaponry in Iraq would continue to kill long after we were gone. Well,
no one could have anticipated that we would still be twiddling our thumbs in Iraq at this late date, so it turns out I was wrong. The victims of our long term killers
couldn't wait us out; the babies are dying and being born malformed
already.

From
MSNBC:
"The Supreme Court has ruled that foreign terrorism suspects held at Guantanamo Bay
have rights under the U.S. Constitution to challenge their detention in civilian courts"
