I've been searching for a good method to convert videos of various formats to run on my new video iPod. Part of that has been looking for various free/shareware apps that might do the job.

Searches for such things often turn up "clearing house" sites that aggregate downloads into one easy location. Don't trust them.

Yeah, in some ways he's about as regressive as it gets, and even bringing up his name in progressive circles might be enough to get me thumped, but sometimes he has some damned good points.  Before the SC Dem primaries he wrote an op-ed piece on where the Obama campaign and race issues were going, and it disturbed me a great deal.  I want you guys to disregard the source and think about what he sees on its own merits, then weigh in with how you see it.
